Itinerary City Tour 4 Ruins in Cusco + Qoricancha

  • Our City Tour 4 Ruins will start with the pick-up from hotels in the center of Cusco from 8:40 to 9:00 am and then we will go to the Convent of Santo Domingo – Qorikancha, we will be able to discover the contrast between Inca culture and Catholicism. Here we will observe the impeccable Inca construction. Qoricancha was a religious center as it had many deities inside and the main deity was the Sun God (Inti).
  • After the visit, our group will take the tourist bus to go out of the city. Sacsayhuamán, a majestic Inca site, with its imposing lithic and enigmatic monoliths that can weigh up to 200 tons. Your guide will offer you an explanation of this phenomenal site and you will have free time to explore the fortress of Sacsayhuaman on your own.
  • It is a five-minute bus ride from Sacsayhuaman to Q’enqo, another Inca site with fascinating Inca altars. Q’enqo was possibly a center for the ceremonial sacrifice of camelids, although others mention that the dead were embalmed in its inner altar. Its semicircular amphitheater and underground galleries are of particular interest.
  • We continue to Puca Pucará, a small Inca construction, a red fortress that is presumed to have been used as a watchtower. This fortress is made up of large walls, terraces and stairways and was part of the defensive complex of Cusco in particular and of the Inca Empire in general.
  • The last stop on our tour is Tambomachay, a temple dedicated to the worship of water. It is also known as the Inca’s royal baths, with its impressive water fountains. Tambomachay consists of a series of aqueducts, canals and several waterfalls that run down the rocks.
  • We will then drive back to Cusco, where the tour will end near the city center.
