ITINERARY:
DAY 1 – PARACAS + HUACACHINA
4:30 AM LIMA – PARACAS We take the road south, where we will be introduced to our guide, who will explain the whole route. Breakfast en route, we will make a short stop to buy breakfast and then continue on our way to Paracas.
9:30 AM PARACAS – ISLAS BALLESTAS We will start our tour of the Ballestas Islands in Paracas on
modern boats, wearing life jackets. During the tour you will be able to see El Candelabro (an enormous geoglyph) and observe an important marine fauna, guano birds such as the guanay, the booby, the whimbrel, the famous sea lions and the friendly Humboldt penguins. We will return to the bay of Paracas.
1:00 PM – VINEYARD IN ICA – WINE AND PISCO TASTING We will tour the facilities and learn about the process of making wine and pisco, and taste different wines such as Burgundy, Vino de Misa, Amacerado de Fruta, Pisco, among others. Each tasting is accompanied by typical local phrases.
Lunch at the passenger’s own expense.
3:00 PM HUACACHINA OASIS This oasis was formed by the emergence of underground water currents, which allows for the existence of vegetation composed of palm trees, eucalyptus and carob trees. This is an ideal place to disconnect from routine and take a break.
TUBULARS AND SANDBOARDING For lovers of adventure sports, you can take the famous Tubulares (dune buggies) and enjoy a beautiful ride in the sand dunes of different sizes, and you can also go sandboarding.
1 night in Nazca – basic hotel, family house with breakfast included.
DAY 2 – NAZCA
10:00 AM NAZCA LINES These are ancient geoglyphs found between the Palpa and Nazca desert plains. Fly over and learn about these impressive figures. You will be able to appreciate the main figures such as the hummingbird, the spider, the condor, the whale, the monkey and many more. They are only visible from the air. According to archaeologist María Reiche, who dedicated her life to the study of the Nazca Lines, these are an astronomical calendar, the largest in the world.
