ITINERARY:
The tour starts with pick-up in Arequipa between 03:00 am and 03:30 am, followed by a 3-hour trip to Chivay for breakfast. Then, we visit the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint (3,500 meters above sea level), where we can see the canyon and the flight of the condors. The tour continues to Cabanaconde (3,280 meters above sea level), where a 3-hour trek begins, descending to San Juan de Chuccho, where lunch is served. Afterwards, we will walk through the villages of Cosñirhua and Malata (2,660 meters above sea level) until we reach Sangalle (The Oasis), where we will have the afternoon free, dinner and overnight.
The second day begins at 05:00 am with a 3-hour ascent to Cabanaconde, where we will have breakfast.
Then, we return to Chivay, with stops in the villages of Pinchollo and Maca, and the lookout points of Choquetico and Antahuilque, to appreciate the terraces of the valley. We enjoy a bath in thermal waters, followed by lunch in Chivay. Finally, we return to Arequipa, stopping at the Volcanoes Lookout Point (4,800 meters above sea level) and the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where you can see vicuñas, arriving in the city in the afternoon.
DAY 01
03:00am to 03:30am Pick up from hotels. We will arrive in Chivay after a journey of approximately 3 hours, where we will have breakfast.
Then we will depart for the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint (3500 meters above sea level). You will have approximately one hour to
enjoy the view of the landscape
Then we will continue to the village of Cabanaconde where we will start our walk of approximately 3 hours at an altitude
of about 3280 meters above sea level. Then we will arrive at the village of San Juan de Chuccho where we will have lunch; there will be a half-hour
rest and then we will start our walk of approximately one hour through the villages of Cosñirhua and
Malata (2660 meters above sea level) and then arrive at Sangalle where we will have the afternoon free to enjoy the landscape and the
bungalows. We will have dinner and rest.
DAY 02
We meet at 05:00 in the morning with the guide to go up to the village of Cabanaconde; our walk
will last approximately three hours. Breakfast.
We will start the return journey to the village of Chivay. Where we will stop in the villages of Pinchollo and Maca, as well as
the Choquetico and Antahuilque viewpoints, from where we will observe the impressive terraces of the Valley and the
beautiful landscape. Afterwards, we will enjoy the thermal waters, whose medicinal waters range from 35o C to 38o
C in temperature. Lunch in Chivay. Then we will start our return to the city of Arequipa. We will stop
at the Mirador de los Volcanes, which is also the highest point on the road (4800 meters above sea level) from where we will be able to see
much of the western mountain range. Skirting the Chachani volcano towards the Cañahuas pampa we will pass by the
Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Arrival in Arequipa.
